Development
Development flows from the design stage but increases the granularity. It is now that the “heavy lifting” is undertaken and the project takes shape.
If the project has an infrastructure requirement, it is now that we decide the hardware platforms, define hosting and traffic requirements and specify the actual hardware itself. This also involves locking-down the software requirement, which is typically a choice between Microsoft and open-source solutions.
On the programming side, it is at this stage that technical design occurs, database schemas designed, development tools and test scripts produced, and templates created.
Microsoft NT/2000/2003, IIS, .NET, J2EE, Solaris, Linux, Apache, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS Access, HTML, XHTML, XML, WAP, JavaScript, DHTML, ASP, Java, Perl Python, VBScript, C/C++, PHP
Content acquisition and treatment covers the gathering of all of the assets required to develop the product; these typically include copy, images, media files and other materials.
On the project management side, project and testing plans would be refined, and compatibility testing and training plans produced.
